Halloween

as we were getting ready to leave for the zoo we tried to put Bowie's costume on and it would NOT fit, so I had to make a new one last minute. His is the original costume is in this picture.

Halloween picture time!

We did a Toy Story theme this year. Boz was Buzz Lightyear, I was Bo Peep, Clementine was Jessie, and Bowie was Woody. I saw a lot of people on tumblr calling our costumes "incestuous" because in the movies Bo peep was the love interest of Woody, and Jessie was the love interest of Buzz. 

The whole reason we did a Toy Story theme this year was because Clementine REALLY wanted to dress up as Jessie. Jessie is her hero. For me there weren't a whole lot of other female Toy Story characters to choose from after Jessie. I thought about being Barbie, but I just had a baby four months ago, no way was I wearing that spandex bodysuit. Bo Peep was the next obvious choice. Boz is built to be Buzz. Like, seriously? Have you seen my husband? He is no Woody. 

Aside from all that, it's a Halloween costume. I was Princess Toadstool one year and made it through the whole night without getting kidnapped. I was Mia Wallace the next year and managed to not OD. Boz was the Wicked Witch one whole weekend without any houses falling on him. I WAS actually pregnant the year we did Juno, but that happen long before I put the costume on. Get your head out of the gutter, people. Never once did it cross my mind that would view our costumes in such a way. That's just silly.

So, pigs are pretty much my favorite thing ever. When we saw these two giant pigs walking towards us  I squealed! It took ever ounce of strength I had to not run off with one.

People kept stopping us to take pictures with us. It was so fun to see the look on all the little kids faces when they saw Boz. They acted like he was the REAL Buzz Lightyear.

Clementine needed to burn some energy off while we waited for them to feed the elephants, so I took her to dance it out.

After we saw the elephants, the kids seemed pretty burnt out, so we packed up and headed home.

When we got home it was time to trick-or-treat!

there aren't many streetlights in our neighborhood, so people hang up all the lights they can find.

There was a group of people dressed as ghosts banging drums and dancing through the streets.

Clementine had SO much fun trick-or-treating. She kept saying "I loooooove Halloween!" every time someone would give her candy, and so many houses gave her extra candy saying that she was the cutest kid of the night. Seeing her so happy was my favorite part of the week. Nothing beats seeing my kids smile.
