Hot Lips

I wanted to do a quick update about one of the lipsticks I bought this weekend (because I can't get the other one to photograph right.)

Sunday Funday!

Boz and I took the kids to the park this weekend. I love weekends! Nothing makes me happier than having my little family all to myself. It might be a little selfish of me, but it's the best kind of selfish and I'm not even going to apologize for it :3

I get asked all the time how I'm able to keep sunglasses on my kids, but I really don't have anything to do with it. Both of my kids hate having the sun in their eyes. When Clementine was a tiny baby she used to scream bloody murder every time I took her for a walk, and the sunshade on her stroller wasn't always enough. I probably had more fun shopping for her first pair of baby sunglasses than I should have, but they are seriously so stinking cute. They make tiny babies look like proper humans and I love it.

Having Bowie has left me with a huge (for me) booty.  I'm used to having a pancake butt,  so I'm not really sure how to deal with it yet but I think I kind of like it. I hope it stays through my weight loss. 

Clementine is a NUT for the park! She likes to play chef for me and Daddy, baking us all kinds of foods out of sand. Yesterday she was all about cupcakes and it was all of our birthdays!

Then is was time for the swings!

After Clementine had her fill at the park we took a walk to the store to buy all the goodies we needed for dinner. Two nights in a row we ate the same dinner because it was just that good. I found the recipe on pinterest while looking for low carb meals. I'm going to make a separate post for it though to make up for missing my last fitness Friday.

Along with our groceries I also got some bleach so I could update my hair a bit, and TWO new lipsticks! A bright barbie pink, and a tangerine orange. They're both amazing!

We stopped on the way home to take some pics of the kids together and I think they came out SUPER cute! Definite keepers.

This was totally my idea of a perfect day. Husband, kids, sunshine, great food, and lots of smiles.

I went and got myself a pinterest and ohmygod I'm obsessed.

My favorite thing to use it for is wish-listing, yummy recipes, craft ideas for my nuggets, and collecting all of my favorite pictures of Marina!

Fitness Friday (week 3)

Happy Friday fitness friends!

So after my 3 pounds weight gain last week I did some research (hey google!) on postpartum weight gain and I read that my weight gain could have been caused by a lack of sleep, so I've been trying to get to bed a little earlier every day this week (no more 3am Melrose Place binging) I've also cut back on carbohydrates which in the past has been one of the only diet changes that has been very effective for me. 


I'm down 5 pounds this week!
that's 36 pounds lost since giving birth July 4th


The 3 pounds I gained last week plus an extra 2 pounds! I can only assume that it's all water weight, and I know the numbers shouldn't matter, but sometimes seeing them fall is just the motivation I need to keep going. 


another thing that's helped motivate me this week, and really though all of my weight loss, is Marina and the Diamonds - The Family Jewels album. I listen to the whole album every time I work out, some songs multiple times since it's only about 45 min long. I especially like working out to the song "OH NO!"

Anytime I feel myself starting to get lazy on my treadmill I put this song on and it gets me running every time. The Family Jewels helped me through my 100 pound weight loss after Clementine was born too. I hear she's going to have a new album coming out soon so I might have to extend my work out time :)


Sorry I haven't updated much this week, Boz went back to work full time so things have been a little busy over here for me trying to keep both kids busy all day by myself. I have a bunch of little craft tutorials I've done lately but I just haven't had time to update about them. SOON! <3

Fitness Friday (week 2)

Heeeeey fitness friends!

So I've officially made it one week into my postpartum weightloss plan! I've been REALLY good, working out everyday, eating healthy, I'm really proud of myself. I've actually GAINED three pounds this week, but I kind of expected that. It happened when I started working out after having Clementine too. Maybe it's water weight, maybe it's muscle mass (lol I wish), whatever it is it'll go away soon.

In happy news: I finally fit into my first pair of proper jeans!!!

They aren't my skinny jeans or anything, but it's still a huge deal for me. I actually cried with I buttoned them without a muffin top. No more maternity jeans or stretch pants for me! I'm finally starting to feel human again. heehee.

One day at a time.

My Fair, Lady.

I woke up yesterday ready to work on my rainbow hair, when Boz said he was taking the day off from work so we could go to the fair! I wasn't sure if we were going to get to go this year since money is tight, so this was a welcomed surprise!

We got ourselves and the kids dressed and ready to go.

We had to stop at Boz's office to pick something up from his dad, and I noticed that on his desk Boz has saved all of the silly doodles I've done for him over the years

I can't wait to get my pre-pregnancy body back. I don't think I look bad really, I just feel so uncomfortable in my own skin. I don't feel like myself, so it's hard to focus on much else.

Every other year we've gone the the fair I've gotten the stroller in no problem, but I guess I looked like some kind of criminal this year because the guy working the gate took EVERYTHING out of the stroller, dug through my diaper bag, checked out our camera, ran one of those handheld metal detectors over my whole body, and kept asking if I was SURE I wasn't hiding anything. I started freaking out, like, what if this guy knows something I don't?! Am I secretly packing heat that I didn't even know about? D:

Our first stop once we got in was the hall of flowers. The theme this year was kind of disappointing. It was the "75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee" so they just used a bunch of decorations they had kept from all of the previous years. It was a mess of dusty old CREEPY decorations

Next we walked over to the far side of the fair to see the animals!

We walked up right as they were having a turkey show, and I fell in love with this handsome giant:

They said his name was Turkules, he's only 4 months old, 54 lbs, and he walked out to that song from the 80's "Day bow bow.. chi- chika chi-kaahhhhh"

I thought this cow on the right was super pretty, and right as I was about to take it's picture it head-butted the poor cow standing next to it! WHAT A DICK!

Clementine had a blast in the petting zoo! As soon as she walked in a giant goat come up and knocked her over. I was worried that she would want to leave after that, but she just laughed and went on her way. That deer she's petting in the middle two pictures was obsessed with Boz and followed him around the whole time. Boz was obviously a Disney princess in a past life.

Clementine got to ride a horse for the first time, and I've never seen her happier. She kept giggling and calling out "Giddyup Bullseye!" which I thought was just Clementine being adorably obsessed with Toy Story like always, then the horse passed me and I saw on it's saddle that it was ACTUALLY named Bullseye. Clementine must have been in Toy Story heaven riding around pretending to be Jessie the cowgirl.

When we were done with Horses we walked over to the kids area so Clementine could be properly distracted while I fed and changed Bowie. After she got out some energy we decided to go and get our yearly fair photobooth pictures! Boz and I have pictures from every year we've been together (minus our second year together, that was a messy summer)  Clementine is technically in THREE sets of pictures, because I've got my big pregnant belly in one. This was obviously Bowie's first year.

Bowie really stepped up to the plate with his face making! I especially like the Nosferatu he's pulling in the second photo. Job well done, little man. This is a proud mommy moment for the baby books, for sure.

Our last stop of the day was for ice cream! You can't go to the fair without getting some kind of treat, even when you're broke, so we all split some delicious Dippin' Dots!

It was such a wonderful day! I wish everyday could be so much fun. Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my beautiful little family and seeing my kids smile.
