Weekend at Grandma's

carousel kids
Boz was on a week long camping trip this last week, so the kids and I went to stay at my parents house while he was gone so I could get a little extra help. My parents are so amazing with the kids, and my mom always has loads of fun activities planned for us when we come over. ALSO, they have this amazing little gym at their apartment complex, and since they're both off work right now, I was able to go workout anytime I wanted! We all got so spoiled.

one of the first nights we were there my parents took us out for pizza!
"smile pretty, Clementine!"
"I fucking LOVE coloring!"
Bowie's first time in a restaurant!
after we ate dinner we went next door to a candy shop where I got these adorable buttons!
"Honey Buns" is my favorite :3

The next morning we went to Howarth park

Clementin was SO excited to ride the ponies!
next we all rode the train!
Bowie and I got the first seat up front.

Granny and Clem were right behind us

only posting this picture because my hair looks amaze.
This was a huge deal for me. I had real tears in my eyes, and I'm getting all emotional about it now just thinking about it. Pigs have been my favorite animal since I was a  little girl, they are simply the most amazing creatures ever. These piggies are only 3 months old, and I was told they will be around 600 lbs once they turn one! WOW.
still glowing from the pigs, watching Clemmie pet chickens.
we rode the carousel a few times since the kids loved it so much.
after we got off of the carousel for the last time Clementine started SOBBING! We sat down on a bench to calm her down and we were like "Clementine didn't you have fun today? Didn't you like petting all of the animals, riding the rides, and playing at the park?" and she said "I liked all of that stuff! I'm just sad because we have to LEAVE!" so I reminded her that we took a lot of pictures that she could look at anytime she wanted to remember her time at the park, and that when Daddy got back from his trip we could all go back together. That seemed to cheer her up.

we spent the next day at the pool!

Happy boy loves the water!
a sure sign of a good time is two passed out kids.
Thank you so much to my wonderful parents for taking such good care of us this weekend! We had so much fun, and the kids are loving looking at all of their pictures over and over again!

Bowie's First Birthday

It feels like just yesterday I was updating about the birth of my baby bear and now he's ONE YEAR OLD! It's so wild how quickly life passes you by when you've got little ones.

Since he was born on the 4th of July and he is our little starman we decided on a RED WHITE & BLUE SPACE THEME!

we got this amazing   "Shuttle Imagination"  cardboard spaceship and painted it up in my kitchen. Clementine had a great time painting the fins for me and  she really did an amazing job. I was super proud of her.
I made a rocket for Bowie's smash cake! It was my first time carving a cake and even though it's a simple shape it was really hard to do, and it was SUPER hot the day I made it so the frosting kept melting. It's was kind of a disaster, but I'm actually pretty proud of it.
red white and blue space cupcakes for all of our guests
I also made cheesecake stuffed strawberries that turned out SO GOOD OHMYGOD! I want to eat them everyday for the rest of my life. perfect.
I made Bowie a birthday banner, and some marshmallow rocket pops!
rocket pop details
My dad made this adorable watermelon rocketship that was filled with star shaped fruits!
we did a little photo station with space themed props
I found the cutest star print plates, I was so in love with them
Clementine had fun helping blow up balloons
nails :D

(we had fun trying to get this thing through my front door)
it was the best birthday gift ever. He was running in and out SQUEALING all day <3
and Clementine has requested the "Castle" for her next birthday
All of the grandmas hanging out by the pool with my babies

he got SO MANY great gifts! You could tell that he was really happy to get some toys of his own. He's always sharing Clementine's old toys, and I think he's getting tired of playing Disney princess with her all the time.

Petaluma Wildlife Museum

We took the kids to the Petaluma wildlife museum yesterday and had such a good time!

from their webpage:
The Petaluma Wildlife & Natural Science Museum is a non-profit organization which is operated by high school students.

In 1989, Hugh Codding donated the entire Codding Museum inventory to Petaluma High School instructor Ron Head to create an innovative educational program. Ron's dream was to give high school students career and leadership skills through active participation in an environmental education program. The Petaluma Wildlife Museum facility was built in 1940 as a school bus garage. When the Museum's collection outgrew the confines of Ron's classroom portable, the Codding family helped purchase a new bus garage, freeing the old one to be used as a world-class 9000 square foot wildlife museum. Over the next few years, hundreds of volunteers from every corner of the community donated time and money to construct various dioramas representing habitats from across the world. They also built displays to house mineral collections, poaching artifacts, and the large live animal collection. Today, the Museum houses over 50 species of fish, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. Thousands of people visit the Museum every year where dozens of high school students provide tours and animal education.
